The relaunch of OmniPod’s app, with Trine as an upfront leader, is based on a desire to create a social network where everyone is passionate about sharing and telling their stories in a new and ground-breaking way. You don’t have to be a podcasting expert to get started. It does not require more than a small pinch of curiosity and courage to tag along and download the app.
In recent years, podcasting has become a must-follow trend in our everyday lives. Several from the younger generation have embraced the universe and are eager to be a part of a creative community where the exchange of ideas and stories are paramount. According to DR’s report about media development in 2020, 44% of 15-31-year-olds now listen to podcasts weekly. For Danes in general, it is up to 26%. OmniPod saw a huge potential in just that, which lead to the creation of the first real social media platform for podcasting.
The OmniPod app enables uploads of self-created content and sharing of podcasts with your network, and is thus a direct exchange of thoughts and ideas between like-minded people. The traditional one-way podcast experience has therefore been scrapped in favor of creating a community where micro-podcasters can develop, tell and listen to each other’s stories.
Trine herself expresses it as follows:
“There are still many stories out there just waiting to be told to the rest of the world. With OmniPod, we want to give you a voice and ensure your stories are heard. We want to make podcasting a true social experience. Try to imagine a social media platform where you can exchange your stories via sound in a common community.”
